We are Chris and Gill Brunt, and we bought our first Keeshond in 1985. We wanted a breed who are good with children, and we discovered the Keeshond at Crufts. When we saw a small boy laid fast asleep with his arms round his furry dog. We waited 18 months to get Chani, and both of our children Louise and Christopher were brought up with her and loved her to bits. She was the most loving keeshond anyone could wish for. We had a litter with her and that was the beginning of my love affair with this wonderful breed.
We bred our first litter in 1991, but only breed when we want to keep a puppy, all mating going though the Keeshond Club Epilepsy scheme, and parents are PHPT negative. All our dogs live in the house or in the specially built dog room. Puppies are born and raised in the house.
We have been showing keeshonds since 1987, and have had some good wins over the years including Best in Show at the North of England Keeshond Club Ch show in 1997, Crufts BOB 1999, both with Cassie. Making Cassie a champion at South Wales Ch Show in 2000 under Doris Purdon with BOB And her half brother Zandvoort Dreamaker taking is first CC, doing the double. Faye's first CC at Southern Counties and BOB in 2006. And right up to date winnning the CC at Crufts and at Welks this year 2008 with Tux my American boy.
